Celebrate Love as a Family

Love is in the air as we approach Valentine’s Day this week. It can have different meanings in different countries, depending on where you live. In some countries it’s strictly about romance while in many other countries everyone joins in not only for romance but also to acknowledge friendship. Any which way you look at it, on this day we have opportunity to do something a little more special for those we love to show them how much we love and appreciate them.

Here’s a few ideas you might like to do with your children to spread more love.

If you need something quick, that doesn’t take a lot of preparation yet is meaningful, give extra big love in little ways.

  • Put a little trinket, special piece of chocolate or love note at each person’s place at the table.
  • Write up little cards or hearts that have acts of service you will do for that person such as do a chore for that person, make a special tea, give a shoulder massage, babysit, cook a special dessert or meal, whatever is meaningful for the person you are serving.
  • Make it an early night getting the kids to bed then set up a blanket, drinks or special chocolates in candlelight for a special romantic nighty-night.
  • Order takeout for dinner, then enjoy a movie with the whole family or after the kids go to bed.
  • Write a special letter to the one you love expressing your deep devoted love to them. Let them know how special they are and how grateful you are to have them as your partner.

Ideas abound, now you just have to decide what you want to do for your loved ones this year. If you’d like more inspiration make sure and see my February Love Pinterest Board. I’d love to meet up with you there and share. So many beautiful and delicious things on Pinterest!
